Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about FutureWallet, answered.
Is FutureWallet safe?
FutureWallet is built with safety as the top priority. Your wallet is non-custodial, meaning only you control your funds. Every trade passes through 8 independent safety guardrails before execution. All actions are logged in a write-only audit trail. The platform uses Privy passkeys for phishing-resistant authentication, and the server signer operates under strict policies that limit what it can do. That said, all trading involves risk, and the AI is not infallible. Use the guardrails and limits to manage your exposure.
Can I lose money?
Yes. Trading tokenized stocks and crypto involves financial risk. Prices go up and down, and you can lose some or all of your investment. AI personas may suggest or execute trades that result in losses. FutureWallet provides tools to manage risk (trade limits, position concentration caps, cooldowns), but it cannot eliminate the inherent risk of trading. FutureWallet does not provide investment advice. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions.
Why can't I trade from the US?
xStocks are tokenized tracker certificates issued under regulatory frameworks that explicitly exclude US persons. This is a regulatory requirement, not a FutureWallet policy decision. The restriction applies to US citizens, US residents, and anyone located in US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands). The restriction is enforced at onboarding, in the app interface, and at the API level.
What happens if the app goes down?
Your funds are safe. Because FutureWallet uses non-custodial wallets, your assets live on the blockchain, not on our servers. If the app is temporarily unavailable, your tokens remain in your wallet. You can export your wallet at any time through Privy's secure export flow and use it with any compatible wallet app. You do not need FutureWallet to access your funds.
Can the AI make bad trades?
Yes, AI personas can suggest or execute trades that lose money. AI is a tool, not an oracle. However, multiple safeguards limit the damage: in assisted mode, you approve every trade before execution. In autonomous mode, daily spending caps, position concentration limits, trade frequency limits, and cooldown timers all constrain the persona's activity. The kill switch can halt all trading instantly. And every trade passes through 8 guardrail checks regardless of who initiated it.
How do I export my wallet?
Go to Settings and find the Wallet section. Tap "Export wallet" to initiate Privy's secure export flow. This will reveal your wallet's private key, which you can import into any compatible wallet app (like MetaMask). Important: your private key is the ultimate access credential. Anyone who has it can control your funds. Store it securely and never share it.
What are the fees?
In V1, FutureWallet charges no platform fees. The only costs you pay are blockchain gas fees (typically fractions of a cent per transaction) and any trading spread on the xStocks venue. Your subscription tier (Free, Pro, Premium) determines your limits but does not add per-trade fees.
Can I use multiple personas at the same time?
Yes, with Pro or Premium tiers. Free users can activate one basic persona. Pro users can run 3 to 5 personas simultaneously, each with its own limits and operating mode. Premium users get unlimited personas with the ability to run combined strategies. Each persona operates independently — they have their own daily budgets, allowed assets, and trade logic.
What if I disagree with a persona's suggestion?
In assisted mode, simply tap Reject on the confirmation card. The trade will not execute and no funds will move. The persona will learn from rejected suggestions over time through its strategy memory, gradually improving its recommendations to better match your preferences. You are always in control.
What is the difference between xStocks and Ondo Finance?
FutureWallet supports two tokenized stock providers. xStocks (by xStocks.fi) offers 80+ tokenized tracker certificates (TSLAx, AAPLx, NVDAx, etc.). Ondo Finance offers tokenized stocks and ETFs (TSLAon, AAPLon, NVDAon, AMZNon, SPYon, COINon). Both are ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum mainnet traded via Uniswap V3. You choose your preferred provider in Settings and can switch at any time. When you say "buy Tesla", FutureWallet routes to the correct token based on your selected provider.
Can I choose which AI model to use?
Yes. FutureWallet supports three AI models: Claude (Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5), Grok (xAI Grok-3), and GPT (OpenAI). You can switch models from the chat input toolbar or set a default in Settings. Claude is the default and excels at intent parsing and trade explanations. Grok is best for social sentiment and X/Twitter-aware analysis. GPT is an alternative general-purpose option. Social analysis always uses Grok-3 regardless of your selection.
Is autonomous trading safe?
Autonomous trading has multiple safety layers. First, every autonomous trade passes through the same 8 guardrail checks as manual trades. Second, high-risk trades never auto-execute — they are held and shown in your chat for manual approval. Third, you set per-persona limits: a daily budget, max per trade, and an allowed asset whitelist. These limits apply on top of your tier limits, and the more restrictive always applies. Fourth, the kill switch instantly halts all autonomous trading. Finally, the 15-minute scan interval and 60-second cooldown prevent rapid-fire trading. You can switch any persona back to assisted mode at any time, and it takes effect immediately.
How does the liquidity indicator work?
When you see a trade confirmation card, it includes a liquidity indicator showing the available pool depth for the trading pair on Uniswap V3. A green "High" badge means the pool has over $1M in liquidity, yellow "Medium" means $100K to $1M, and red "Low" means under $100K. This data is cached for 24 hours. The liquidity indicator is purely informational — it never blocks your trade. Low liquidity may result in higher slippage (a worse execution price), but the separate slippage guardrail check will block your trade if slippage exceeds 1%.
How does the AI learn about me?
FutureWallet uses Letta, a long-term memory system, to remember your preferences and trading patterns. It stores things like: your risk tolerance, which assets you prefer, when you typically trade, explicit preferences you mention (like "I don't trade on Fridays"), and how you respond to persona suggestions. This is behavioral data about your trading preferences — not personal data like your name, address, or financial details. The memory makes the AI more personalized over time, so it gives you better suggestions the more you use it.
