Chat Trading
Your AI trading assistant — part broker, part advisor.
The Chat tab is your AI trading assistant — part broker, part advisor. You can execute trades using plain English, but you can also ask market questions, get portfolio analysis, discuss trading strategies, and receive personalized investment insights. The AI understands context: your portfolio, risk preferences, and past trades inform every response.
Example Messages
“buy $10 of Tesla”
Buys $10 worth of xTSLA at the current market price.
“sell 5 Apple”
Sells 5 xAAPL tokens from your portfolio.
“buy $100 of Microsoft”
Buys $100 worth of xMSFT at the current market price.
“what is the price of Google?”
Just asks for information — no trade is created.
“how is my portfolio doing?”
The AI responds with a summary of your current positions and PnL.
“should I buy bitcoin?”
The AI analyzes BTC's current market conditions, your portfolio exposure, and risk profile to give a balanced assessment.
“what's a good diversification strategy?”
The AI discusses portfolio allocation based on your current holdings and risk tolerance.
Advisory Mode
A risk mode selector in the chat header lets you control the tone and perspective of the AI's responses. Choose from three modes:
- Conservative — Emphasizes caution, capital preservation, and downside risks. Recommends smaller positions and waiting for better entries.
- Balanced — Objective analysis weighing both upside and downside. Presents bull and bear cases side by side.
- Aggressive — Opportunity-focused, highlights momentum and upside potential. Direct about actionable opportunities.
You can switch modes mid-conversation — the change takes effect immediately on the next response. The selected mode also influences trade pipeline decisions such as position sizing suggestions and risk guardrail thresholds.
AI Model Selector
A model selector in the chat input toolbar lets you choose which AI powers your conversation. You can switch between three models at any time:
- Claude (Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5) — The default. Strong at intent parsing, risk assessment, and clear trade explanations.
- Grok (xAI Grok-3) — Best for social sentiment and X/Twitter-aware analysis.
- GPT (OpenAI) — Alternative general-purpose model.
The change takes effect immediately on the next message. Social analysis always uses Grok-3 regardless of your selection. You can also set your default model in Settings.
How It Works
When you send a message, the AI follows these steps (simplified):
- Understands your intent — The AI figures out whether you want to buy, sell, or just ask a question. It identifies the asset (e.g., Tesla = xTSLA) and the amount.
- Checks safety guardrails — Your trade is checked against 8 safety rules: daily limits, position concentration, slippage, cooldown timer, and more. If any check fails, you get a clear explanation of why.
- Gets a live quote — The system fetches the current price from the trading venue and calculates exactly how many tokens you will receive (or how much you will get for selling). The estimated price and total are displayed on the confirmation card.
- Shows you a confirmation card — You see all the details: asset, amount, price, estimated tokens. You tap Approve or Reject.
- Executes the trade — If you approve, the transaction is signed and broadcast to the blockchain. You get a confirmation when it is done.
Tips for clear messages
- Include a dollar amount or token quantity for the clearest results
- Use common company names — the AI knows that “Tesla” means xTSLA, “Apple” means xAAPL, etc.
- You can ask questions without triggering a trade — the AI knows the difference
- If the AI misunderstands, just clarify — it will not execute anything without your approval
- You can chat about your portfolio, ask for prices, or discuss market trends — it is not just for trading
