Positions & PnL
Understanding what you own and how it is performing.
Understanding Positions
A position is your holding in a particular asset. If you bought $10 of xTSLA, you have a position in xTSLA. The position tracks how many tokens you own, what you paid for them, and what they are worth now.
When you make multiple purchases of the same asset, they are combined into a single position. For example, if you buy $10 of xTSLA today and another $20 tomorrow, you have one xTSLA position with a combined value.
Average Cost Basis
Your average cost basis is the average price you paid per token across all your purchases. For example:
Purchase 1: 0.056 xTSLA at $178.00
Purchase 2: 0.110 xTSLA at $182.00
Average cost basis: ~$180.65 per xTSLA
The cost basis helps you understand whether your current position is profitable. If xTSLA is trading above your average cost, you are in profit; below it, you are at a loss.
Unrealized PnL (Profit & Loss)
Unrealized PnL is the profit or loss on your current holdings that you have not yet locked in by selling. It is calculated as:
For example:
- You own 0.166 xTSLA
- Your average cost is $180.65
- Current price is $190.00
- Unrealized PnL = ($190.00 - $180.65) x 0.166 = +$1.55
“Unrealized” means you have not sold yet — the profit exists on paper but becomes “realized” only when you sell.
PnL changes in real time
Your unrealized PnL updates continuously as token prices change. A position that is green now could turn red later (or vice versa). This is normal — asset prices fluctuate.
